Black Duck Software marked its second best quarter ever, today announced the company, driven by new customer bookings, customer renewals and growth in all business units, including services – which saw a growth of 100 percent year after year – and distributor partnerships.

Second quarter 2010 highlights included:

* Named a Gartner “Cool Vendor” in Application Development. Black Duck was named to the prestigious “Cool Vendors in Application Development, 2010″ by Gartner, Inc. (1) The company was recognized for his role in the deployment of next-generation capabilities in several key areas of the life cycle development.

* Black Duck Enhancements Suite. Black Duck announced integration with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. * New customer growth. The company added 42 new customers in Q2, bringing rolls of clients to well over 700. New customers reflect the strength in the company’s business and technology focused organizations.

* Partnerships. Black Duck Partners expanded its program, adding key retailers Hitachi Systems and Services, Ltd. and Fujitsu Middleware Ltd.
