BlackBerry is in serious danger of being usurped, as the company Bods’ first choice mobile e-mailing. With the Nokia E71 scandalously thin and Apple iPhone 3G companies muscling in on the scene, its new flagship phone – rightly called the Bold – must be awfully good to avoid the ambush.
Fortunately the Bold lives up to its name. BlackBerry maker RIM has pulled out all the stops, considerably upping the production values, giving out the design and finally, after a lifetime of waiting, a montage fast HSDPA engine. Only a small two-megapixel camera undertakes its high-end smartphone Credsa.
Bold build
Bold is a follow-up to the 8820, so if you’re expecting a more compact pocket easy curve physicist, was disappointed. He feels high, but this is partly due to its high quality construction and aluminium frame mined. A surprising fetching and tactile leather rear panel completes reshuffle.
The GUI also has a style, allowing coexistence in accordance with his last look, but no new OS extravagant to worry CrackBerry fans; touch the ball remains lucid, while its mobile processor 624MHz, one of the fastest everything remains all along very well.
Dream screen
It’s hard not to notice the new dynamic quality half-VGA screen – is a stunned and feel closer to the glass top of the clarity and sharpness.
Another notable improvement is the QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry complete keyboards have always been big for the thumb, but the Bold of prominent agreement is a revelation, easily accommodate the fattest of digits with space to spare.
After slumming with EDGE download speeds of eons, BlackBerry fans finally get to ride the express 3.6kbps HSDPA. The speed increase is remarkable, especially when web browsing, although the track ball not to make the slickest navigation tool when moving around the desktop website. Of course, Wi-Fi is ready for faster downloads if they reach an access point.
House Disaster
You could argue that the only 3G iPhone packs two megapixel snapper, but that does not excuse the Bold camera weak supply. Without autofocus, photos advanced mods and a weak LED flash, the set-up is a big disappointment.
With BlackBerry aboard Maps (Google Maps are also downloadable) and a built-in GPS receiver, the Bold is also poised for basic sat-nav. The receiver was quick to smoke a Sputnik set, which comes in handy when geotagging their photos.
RIM was quick to 3.5mm headphone integrated into their sockets and connect devices as cans help to improve performance audio Boldsen. The music player of the 11-Ecualizadores so diligently also adapt to a fidelity sound admirably composed.
If not for the meek camera, the BlackBerry Bold right to be congratulated now be five stars. That said, BlackBerry fans and especially those newcomers in search of a highly connected seamlessly mobile device sending emails with a nice line cuts multimedia and elegant design, is the Bold difficult to resist.
