In particular, HP is going to run a cloud service that allows third party developers can offer their applications to corporate and private users of products and services to HP. At the same time, Leo Apotheker announced that his company intends to annually sell more than 100 million devices running WebOS – its own operating system from HP based on Linux. Given that this is not just about personal computers, but also on mobile devices, printers and other products, HP’s cloud initiative could cover an extremely wide range of different functional units.
