Product Creation Tips – What is the Ideal Length of an eBook?

A question just came in the Warrior Forum the other day. What is the ideal length of an e-book? Good question. And although there is no one answers to it, there are some things you’ll want to consider when deciding on the duration of your ebook will be. This article will give some suggestions that should help you with your decision.

Ideally, an e-book should be as long as necessary to explain the problem to the reader. Certainly you do not want to leave out any information that is going to leave the reader with questions at the end of such gravity as to make use of the book difficult. For example, writing a book on how to use blogs for affiliate promotions but do not show the person how to configure one that has left a large part of the process. So you want to make sure not to miss anything that could be considered critical information.

That said, let’s be honest. People have very short attention span. Once past a certain number of pages, readers will be bored and probably put the damn thing down. So be careful not to overload your book. What is overloading? It’s different for everyone, unfortunately. I can make reading an electronic book which is about 125 pages. Beyond that, I start to get a bit restless. If you put an e-book of 300 pages in front of me and asked me to read it, I’d say Stark Raving is out of your mind. But that’s me. Some people have no problem with 300 pages and others can not go beyond 50. Everyone is different.

What I would, however, is the following. If I knew I was going to write more than 100 pages, I would put the ebook in two volumes. I’d find a good breaking point, which was divided there. I’ve done quite a few multi-volume systems in my day so I have some experience in this field. People seem to appreciate when they are divided over how this works. Makes it easier to digest the material.

But what a final number of pages of an eBook … forget it. There. Only material that meets the needs to be filled and do not worry about length. As I said, if you are very long (100 pages) divide it into several volumes. It gives the illusion of a shorter labor.
